I missed out on posting entries for my Srilanka trip that i took in 2012, here is Day 3
Had a scrumptious breakfast in nice sunny morning and then took a short little tuk-tuk ride to mirissa beach which is a pretty awesome place. About 90% of the tourists (a few hundred or so) were europeans. Highly recommend getting a room around here, very affordable and awesomely well located with lots to do nearby.
The beach was awesome, nice soft sandy beach gave us a chance to laze around and enjoy our beach experience. Spent a few hours there had a nice local lunch by the beach. Then we went on to Koggala beach, which wasnt more than a 20 minute ride but instead of the south of Sri Lanka this was more on the western coast. It really is a small country.
As may be seen in the photo above, the waves here were much choppier, though it may have been due to the tide, but i think this beach faced westwards and that may have been the bigger reason. Some very very pretty girls and despite what my wife suggests, I did not flirt with any of them at any time :)
Relaxed in the pool at the three watching the colors of the sunset and savoring the kind of weather one dreams of for vacations. Dinner at the wijaya, small little restaurant, just short of unawatuna. Once again tasty local food, nicely priced and everything. Went to happy banana in unawatuna - sunday no parties. :(
Had a relaxing walk on the beach. Made some plans to visit yala national park but cancelled cause it takes 2 days to really get a feel for it and we had alternative ideas on how to use up the rest of our days.
